FAQ

No, we provide psychotherapy and counseling services only. However, if you are struggling with symptoms of ADHD and interested in medication, we can help you find a prescriber that takes your insurance.

All cancellations require 24 hours notice by email. The cancellation fee is $75.

Outpatient is for clients who are not in crisis and do not need intensive therapeutic services. We only provide outpatient counseling at this time. If you need an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) or have high-risk behaviors (such as ongoing suicidal ideation) we would not be the right team for you. However, if you call for a consultation we can help you find a therapist that is appropriate for you and provides that level of service.  If you are in crisis, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Yes, we help Adults, Children, and Teens with ADHD get the tools, strategies and support they need to thrive in life.

ADHD can make everyday tasks seem like insurmountable challenges. From simple work tasks to your never-ending to-do list at home, people who have ADHD often struggle to find the motivation needed to get things done. As a result, a simple to-do list turns into a mountain of responsibility and can make a person feel as if they are lazy or that they never have enough time to finish what’s needed. For children and teens, ADHD can cause issues with schoolwork and household chores and interfere with their social development and relationships with others. Adults with ADHD may find their symptoms interfering with their productivity at work, never getting to those projects around the house, and feeling like they live in a constant state of clutter.

ADHD presents differently in each child, teen, and adult who faces the condition, but many symptoms interfere with productivity and focus and lead to procrastination and stress. Left untreated, symptoms often increase and can lead to depression, anxiety, and a decrease in self-esteem. If you or your child is struggling with the symptoms and side effects of ADHD, whether you have a formal diagnosis or not, the counselors at Firefly Counseling will work with you to manage your symptoms and help you get your life back!

Starting with an in-depth analysis of your strengths and weaknesses, we will work together to develop a treatment plan that fits your personality and lifestyle. The counselors at Firefly Counseling will help you create and work toward achieving realistic goals to enhance your productivity, self-esteem, and focus and decrease stress and other unwanted side effects of ADHD symptoms. In each session, we will check in and see how you are progressing toward your goals and adjust your plan as needed.

Our goal is to make therapy grow and change with you! ADHD is a neurological condition and, therefore, affects not only a person’s executive function but also their emotions. In therapy, we will work together to address the whole person. Your counselor will walk you through any emotional side effects your ADHD is causing and help you process those emotions in a safe and supportive environment. Our goal is to help each individual find and use their strengths to work in conjunction with their ADHD instead of against it! At Firefly Counseling, we believe in helping our clients accept who they are and find joy in their unique individualism. Through the management of your ADHD symptoms, learning emotional regulation skills, and finding the tools that work best for you or your child, our goal is to help you produce changes leading to life-long success!
